What is Collateral margin and process of getting collateral margin?

Collateral amount is like a loan against shares offered by brokers. Shares in your Demat account are pledged to get additional trading margin.

Shoonya offers a collateral margin facility.

1. Pledging allowed for shares, ETFs, and mutual funds.
2. Not usable for equity delivery and options buying.
3. You need 50% margin in cash or cash-equivalent assets.
4. Pledging/unpledging charge: ₹20 + GST per scrip.

Steps to pledge on Shoonya:

• Log in to the Shoonya app
• Go to Hub → Tap “”Pledge””
• Select holding and click “”Pledge Now””
• Choose segment and quantity → Tap “”Pledge””
• Enter OTP and verify
